- 01Day Camp operates 7 days a week from 7:00 am - 6:00 pm. Drop-off: between 7:00 am - 10:00 am Pick-up: between 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. **Please note that these drop off and pick up windows are very important to abide by. It allows the team to stick to the schedule of the day and keep things predictable for our Campers. Outside of these windows there may not be a team member available to greet you as they are busy keeping our pups safe and making sure they are having fun!
- 02Before attending daycare, your pup is required to pass a Half-day Assessment. During the assessment we will slowly acclimate your pup to our environment, staff, and a few friendly dogs. We are looking at their comfort level, listening skills and socialization skills. This will allow us to see if they're a good fit for our program and what group they would do best in. Providing your pup passes their assessment, you will have access to full daycare days, sleepovers and grooming.
- 03Pups must be up to date on their: Rabies DAPP (young pups require both boosters of this vaccine), and Bordetella (Canine Cough) We also recommend having Leptospirosis. This is not a requirement to come to Camp, however if you would like your pup to swim in our pond they will need to have the Leptospirosis vaccine. Vaccination certificates will need to be uploaded to your Gingr account and verified on our end before booking a Half-day Assessment. Official vaccine documentation can be obtained from your vet upon request. These documents will include: vet, pet owner and dog information as well as vaccine details, when they were administered and most importantly, when the vaccine expires. *Please note, that we do not accept records that have been filed out by hand.
- 04At Camp Shake-A-Paw, we strive to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all our furry guests. Here's what you should bring when dropping off your dog: 1. Flat Collar and Leash: Ensure your dog has a properly fitted flat collar, which means you can only fit two fingers between it and your pup, along with a leash. 2. Lunch: If your dog requires a meal during their stay, pack their lunch in a clearly labelled container. 3. Medicine: If your dog needs any medication while at our daycare, bring it in a clearly labelled container to ensure proper administration. By following these guidelines, you help us provide the best care possible for your Camper!
- 05What is a properly fitted flat collar? A properly fitted flat collar is a secure yet comfortable collar designed to sit snugly around your dog’s neck without causing discomfort. It should meet the following criteria: Snug but not tight: You should be able to fit two fingers between the collar and your dog’s neck. This ensures it’s secure enough to stay in place without being restrictive. Flat and durable: The collar lies flat against the dog’s neck and is typically made of materials like nylon, leather, or other durable fabrics. Appropriate sizing: The collar should be the correct size for your dog, sitting high on their neck (not loose or drooping). Adjustable collars are great for achieving the perfect fit. What a flat collar isn’t: Not a slip, prong, or choke collar: Flat collars do not tighten or constrict when pulled. Not a harness: A flat collar goes around the neck only, unlike harnesses, which wrap around the chest and shoulders. A properly fitted flat collar ensures your dog’s safety and comfort while preventing it from slipping off or causing irritation. Why is a flat collar necessary? A flat, fitted collar is an important safety tool at camp. It ensures that our team can safely and securely guide dogs when needed, whether during play, transitions, or emergencies. Loose or improperly fitted collars can pose a risk of slipping off, while harnesses and other gear do not provide the same level of quick, safe handling in a group play environment. For the safety of all our Campers, we require dogs to wear a properly fitted flat collar while at Camp. Please spend some time acclimating your pup to a flat collar prior to the assessment. The assessment day should not be the first time your pup wears a collar as it can be overstimulating and could affect the outcome of the assessment. Please reach out to us with any questions or concens.
- 06Our Campers start their day with drop-off between 7:00 am and 10:00 am. From there, it’s all day, all play! We separate pups into spacious pens based on their personality and energy levels, and our team carefully supervises play to make sure everyone is happy and safe. Throughout the day, dogs can take indoor breaks in our fully climate-controlled barn. It’s cozy in the winter and cool in the summer, and any pup that needs a rest or nap is given the opportunity. Our staff keeps a close eye on when a break is needed. Pick-up is between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm, when you’ll head home with a tired, happy pup.
- 07We do not offer tours of our facility as it does create a lot of disruption for our pups and their play with the excess of excitement created by having people tour our facility. As a daycare that focuses on all day play for our pups, it's important that we are able to control their environment to the best of our ability to make sure it's always safe and peaceful for them to explore, socialize, play and stay in. We strive very hard to create an environment for our pups that does not feel like a kennel and one that puts our pups needs first. That being said, we do understand just how much our pet parents would love to see where their pups play all day. So, we are very excited to offer a virtual tour of our facilities that you can view HERE.
- 08We know plans can change, and sometimes life gets busy. If you can’t make your daycare reservation, please let us know so we can offer the spot to another Camper who may be waiting. There’s no charge for same-day cancellations as long as we receive notice by 9:00 AM. Cancellations made after 9:00 AM, or no-shows, may be charged the full day or result in a lost package credit. You can cancel directly through your Gingr account, or reach out to us and we’ll be happy to help adjust your booking.
